ESL learners often confused themselves between the uses of present simple and present continuous tense.

People think that we use the present simple tense for something which is happening right now, but it is not correct.

We use Present continuous tense for the action which is happening right now

We use Present simple tense for the action we do in daily routine or in repeated behavior
