About 2 weeks ago, I got a call from my friend, and he he told me that he was really struggling in the verbal section of GRE, and he wanted me to help in memorizing the high frequency words. At first, I was a bit reluctant since I was busy with my own assignments. Nevertheless, I decided to help him. He came to my house and we devised a 10-day plan to learn 1000 words. The plan was very ambitious, but we decided that it was the only way to learn those words. I remember that I used to give him quizzes and flashcards so that he could remember them. Furthermore, I gave him some articles in which those difficult words were being used. The good thing about this activity was that my friend was able to understand the words in context. Though my friend did not ace the verbal part of the exam, he got an acceptable score, and he was quite satisfied with his performance and he thanked me a lot for all my efforts.
